J. Edmonds Called By Death Mrs. Q. J. Cockerham Edmonds died at the home of her father, Mr. J. S. Cockerham, Sunday evening, February 2, at 4:30. Funeral services were held at New Hope Church Monday evening at 4:00 o'clock and the body laid to rest in the New Hope Cemetery, her old home church. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Amos Buchan. A host of relatives and friends were there to pay the last tribute of respect to dear Magiree. To know Magiree was to love her. All her life she had been a true Christian girl. She was a devoted wife and loving mother and a friend to all. Magiree was 22 years of age, and was married to Quincy J. Edmonds, November 11, 1934. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Cockerham and was raised near Hudson. Besides her husband and baby, Billy Yvonne, she leaves a father, mother, two sisters, Mrs. Nola Thomas and Miss Ethel Lee Cockerham, one brother, Gilbert, all of Hudson and a host of relatives and friends to mourn her death. She was sick about 30 days but did not complain and died as she lived with a smile on her face. It was hard to give her up and her place in the home is vacant but fear not dear ones, Magiree is in a better world than this and all her troubles are over. The Lord Giveth and the Lord Taketh Away, but blessed be His Holy Name. He doeth all things well. Sometimes the Lord plucks the prettiest, swettest, and choicest flower for his own. But we realize the justice of Divine God. We are lonely, dear and miss you. No one knows but God, Since you are quietly sleeping, Sleeping beneath the sod. One Who Loved Her
