Embree, Former Resident, Dies In Texas Funeral services for J. M. Embree, former resident of Winnfield, who died in Atlanta, Texas, Feb. 10, following a heart attack, were held in Atlanta Sunday at the First Christian Church, with burial in the Pine Crest Cemetery. Attending the funeral from Winnfield were relatives of Mrs. Embree, as follows: C. B. Cole, Mr. and Mrs. John Richard Cole and baby, Richard, Mrs. C. R. Wood, Misses Janie and Ruth Wood, Miss Eva Cole, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Turner, and Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Turner. Mr. Embree, who was born Feb. 14, 1875, would have been 75 years of age if he had lived to his birthday. He and his family had resided in Winnfield for years but had returned to Atlanta, Texas eight or ten years ago. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Meda Cole Embree; and two sons, James and Winfred, of Atlanta, Texas; three sisters, Mrs. Victoria Miller, and Mrs. Eliza Hopkins, San Antonio, and Mrs. Bell Odom of Santa Anna, Texas.
