Mrs. Betty C. Emerson Dies in Washington

A former resident of Winnfield, Mrs. Betty C. Emerson, age 78 years, died
Saturday, March 1, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John D. Stevenson, in
Washington, D. C.  Mrs. Emerson lived in Winnfield until about six or seven
years ago.

Funeral services and interment were held at Haynesville, La., Wednesday, March
5.

Mrs. Emerson is survived by one son, David Emerson of Jonesboro, Ark.; three
daughters, Mrs. John D. Stevenson, Washington, D. C., Mrs. Tina Norton,
Haynesville, Mrs. Effie Walsh, Haynesville; one sister, Mrs. Anna Martin,
Haynesville, and one brother, Bob Martin, of Shreveport, and a number of
grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Attending the funeral from Winnfield were Mrs. Rosa Emerson and sons, Clingman
and Charles, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Gassiott and sons, Mr. Joe Gassiott, Mrs. Doris
Warner, Mrs. Juanita Lasyone, Mrs. John Emerson, and Mr. and Mrs. Russell
Norton.
