D. Emmons of Sikes, who died in Alexandria February 16, 1950, were held at the Sikes Baptist Church Saturday at 10 o'clock. The Rev. A. D. Murray, pastor, had charge of the services, and burial was in the Sikes Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home. Acting as pallbearers were L. W. Gulledge, Harmie Forrest, H. C. Thompson, Archie Crawley, J. D. Thornton, and C. H. Crain. Born January 22, 1876, Mrs. Emmons was 74 years and 24 days of age at the time of her death. She had been a member of the Sharon Baptist Church since her youth. Surviving are one son, Ira Campbell, of Alexandria; eight grandchildren, Mrs. Postal White, Jr. of Port Arthur, Texas; Mrs. Leonard Rachal of Alexandria; Edwin Campbell of Lake Charles; Eldridge Campbell of Texas; Ellis Campbell of Port Arthur; Barrett and Bobbie Campbell of Alexandria; and Farrel Campbell, stationed in the Army at Alaska; four great grandchildren and two half sisters, Mrs. Sadie McDade of Joyce and Mrs. Ella Reed of El Dorado, Ark.
