Walter Erskins Of Sikes Dies Of Gun Wounds

Walter Erskins of Sikes, age about 38 and married, was accidentally shot
Saturday afternoon while in his garage at Sikes.  From reports it seems Mr.
Erskins and a man named Morgan were discussing the merits of their revolvers,
when Erskins handed his gun to Morgan to examine which was in some way
discharged, the bullet hitting Erskins in the chest.

Mr. Erskins was rushed to Jonesboro for treatment, where he died Monday night. 
The body was returned to Sikes Tuesday and was buried in the Sikes Cemetery,
Rev. D. D. Emmons conducted the funeral service.
