Funeral Rites For Mrs. Chester Erskins Held

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday for Mrs. Eula Florine Erskins,
71, of Sikes, at Sikes Baptist Church, where she was a member, with the Revs.
Willie James and Virgil Jones, Jr., officiating.

Burial was in Sikes Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home of
Winnfield.

Mrs. Erskins, a native of Sikes, died of an apparent heart attack Monday,
March 10, 1969 at the residence of a son in Karnack, Texas.

Survivors include her husband, Chester Erskins of Sikes; two sons, Sherman
Erskins of Karnack, Texas and Chester A. Erskins, Jr., of Bastrop; one
daughter, Mrs. Ruth Virginia Summers of Karnack; five sisters, Mrs. Julie
Sikes of Monroe, Mrs. Tennessee Harlow, Miss Myra Wall, and Miss Cecil Wall,
all of Sikes, and Mrs. Carol Lubbers of Oklahoma City, Okla.; five
grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Kenneth Thompson, Michael Phillips, Joe Satterwhite, Gary
Summers, George Stroud, and James Kelley.
