K. Erskins, Age 72 Years, Succumbs After Seventeen Month's Illness Funeral services for J. K. Erskins, age 72 years, who died at his home in Hill, La., Saturday, were held Sunday afternoon at the Wright Cemetery. The Rev. Winston Emmons had charge of the services. Mr. Erskins was born and lived his entire life in the same community. He was a progressive farmer and took an active part in the affairs of his community and parish. He was at one time school board member and for many years was postmaster at the Hill post office. He was a consecrated Christian and a great Bible student. Mr. Erskins was an invalid for 17 months before his death. He is survived by his widow, three sons, Jesse Erskins and Allison Erskins of Shreveport; Crockett Erskins fo Hill; and Mrs. Martha Ann Haron of Jena; two brothers, W. A. and G. A. Erskins of Sikes and one sister, Mrs. H. J. Perkins of Winnfield, and a host of relatives and friends. The following from Winnfield attended the funeral services: Mrs. H. J. Perkins, Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Allen, Mr. and Mrs. W. O. Averett, and Mrs. S. C. Sowers.
