Estes, Brother In Law Of H. Bozeman, Dies William O. Estes, 68, brother in law of H. B. Bozeman of Winnfield, died at his home in Uvalde, Texas, Thursday night, March 7. He was the late Mrs. H. B. Bozeman's oldest brother. During World War I, he was a lieutenant in a machine gun company of General Douglas MacArthur's famous Rainbow Division, that saw such bitter and bloody action around Verdun. After World War I, he went to Argentina and became one of the largest cattlemen in that country, and a director of a bank in the City of Jupuy, capitol of Jujuy Province. After Juan Peron became dictator and confiscated the property of all Americans, Mr. Estes and his family returned to the United States in 1954, and since have made their home at Uvalde. His funeral and burial was delayed until this Wednesday in order to permit his eldest son, William T. Estes, a petroleum engineer in charge of drilling operations of a major American oil company in Bolivia, S. A., to fly home. Burial was in the National Cemetery at Fort Sam Houston, near San Antonio, Texas. Survivors, besides his widow and son, Douglas, of Uvalde, are sons, William T. Of Bolivia, S. A., Thomas W. Estes of Amarillo, Texas; daughters, Misses Dee and Peggy Estes, Dallas, Texas; sisters, Mrs. A. B. Pullen and Miss Tedd Estes of Mexico City, and Mrs. S. D. Sumerford, Baton Rouge, La.; and a brother. T. W. Estes of Argentina.
