Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church here for Kerry B. Etheridge, 23, who died Tuesday, October 22, 1974 in Confederate Memorial Hospital in Shreveport after a lengthy illness. Officiating were Rev. Calvin Phelps and the Rev. Charles Haley. Burial was in Garden of Memories Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield. Mr. Etheridge was a heavy equipment mechanic, a member of the First Baptist Church of Winnfield, and a member of the Winn Jaycees, for which he was internal vice president. He attended Winnfield Senior High School and was a graduate of the class of 1969. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Margaret B. Etheridge of Winnfield; one daughter, Donna Michelle Etheridge of Winnfield; his mother, Mrs. Beth Etheridge of Winnfield, maternal grandmother, Mrs. Dosia McDade of Winnfield, one brother, Bonner Etheridge, Jr. of Winnfield, and one sister, Mrs. Ronnie Ball of Natchitoches. Pallbearers included Danny Mercer, Bill Hough, James Beck, Jerry Reed, Jimmy Earl Canerday, and John Brown. The Jaycees will serve as honorary pallbearers.
