George W. Evans, 93, To Be Buried At Sardis Oct. 29

93 year old Winn Parish native George W. Evans died in the Winnfield hospital
at 8:30 p.m. October 27, 1970 after a long illness.  He was a retired farmer
and a member of the Winnfield Masonic Lodge.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Sardis Baptist Church at 2 p.m.
Thursday with Rev. E. B. Barton and Rev. Otis Dumas officiating.

Burial will be in the Sardis Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral
Home.  Masonic rites will be conducted by the Winnfield Lodge.

Surviving are five sons, Wilbur Evans, Winnfield, G. B. Evans, Montgomery,
Johnny Evans, Marshall, Texas, James W. Evans, Cutoff, La., and Jesse W.
Evans, Tioga, La.; two stepsons, Charles W. Silman, Broussard, Texas, and
Thomas H. Silman, Montgomery; four daughters, Mrs. Lula Smiley, Dodson, Mrs.
Ollie Storey, Groves, Texas, Mrs. Amy Shaw, Tullos, Mrs. Flora Keyes,
Winnfield; one step daughter, Mrs. Ottie Lea Evans, Winnfield; 53
grandchildren, 61 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
