Evans Buried at Sardis Cemetery Jan. 29 Henry M. Evans, 39, of Winnfield, Route 1, died Tuesday, January 28, at a Shreveport hospital following a short illness. Funeral services were held Wednesday at Sardis and burial was in the new Sardis Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield, Rev. F. M. Shows and Rev. Henry J. Mott, minister of Winnfield, conducted the services. Mr. Evans has been a resident of Route 1, Winnfield, for the past two years. He was born in 1906 in Winn Parish, where he was also reared and educated. His occupation was the logging business. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Nobie Evans, and three children, Dorothy Laverne, Earlene, and David, all of Route 1, Winnfield; four brothers, Clayton and Denson of Wisner, Bill of Winnfield, and Leonard of Dodson; two sisters, Mrs. Leethie Whittington and Mrs. Lonnie Wells, both of Wisner. Pallbearers were brothers-in-law of the deceased: Iley Taylor, Dennis Taylor, Roy Taylor, Ernest Spikes, Wilmer Barton, and Reginald Gore.
