E. Evans of Winnfield, died December 31, after a two day illness, having suffered a cerebral hemorrhage. Funeral services were conducted January 1 at the Zion Hill Church, near Jordan Hill, with the Rev. Waynon Mott officiating. Burial was in the Zion Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home. Acting as pallbearers were: Stanley Bass, Billy Palmer, Gordon Dickerson, A. B. White, Bobby Joe Martin, and Charles Varnell. The youth was born in Eureka, Kan., and came to Winnfield with his parents seven years ago to make their home. His father is connected with the L & A railway. Besides his parents he is survived by five brothers, Charles of Baton Rouge; Maurice of Okeene, Okla., "Dick" of U. S. Air Force, Biloxi, Miss.; Billy, U. S.
