All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: January 6, 1944 Winn Parish Enterprise Last Rites For Lester Farr Are Held Thursday Funeral services for Lester Farr, 38, who died in a Norfolk, Va., hospital as the result of influenza, on January 1, 1944, were held at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. M. Farr, Winnfield, Thursday, January 6, at 3 p.m. The Rev. Alwin Stokes, Presbyterian minister, had charge of the services. He was assisted by Rev. H. H. McBride, Baptist pastor, and Rev. H. B. Hysell, Methodist pastor. Interment was in the Winnfield Cemetery. Formerly an employee of the American Creosote Works, Inc., Mr. Farr resided here until several years ago when he went to Norfolk, Va. At the time of his death he was employed at the Navy shipyards. He is survived by two children, Mary Louise and Lester, Jr.; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. M. Farr; two brothers, E. H. "Kidd" Farr of Winnfield, and Orean of Chico, Calif.; and one sister, Mrs. Lawrence Goodwin of Tullos.
