Farr, 69, Died Here Sunday Morning, July 27 M. M. Farr, 69, a resident of Winnfield for the past 18 years, passed away at his home in the Laurel Heights community at 9:45 a.m. Sunday, July 27, after an illness of several months. Funeral services were held at the Laurel Heights Church at 2:30 o'clock Monday afternoon, July 38, with the Rev. H. J. Mott and Rev. Calvin M. Robinson officiating. Interment was in the Winnfield Cemetery. Mr. Farr was born in Steville, Missouri, May 14, 1878. He was married to Miss Dora Gaither in Doniphan, Mo., 46 years ago. Mr. Farr, who had been in the lumber business most of his life, later moved to Arkansas where he worked as mill foreman at several towns in that state. The Farr family moved to Louisiana about 25 years ago and Mr. Farr was connected with the lumber industry at Clarks, La., Selma, La., and at Monroe. They moved to Winnfield 18 years ago and soon after arrival here, Mr. Farr became connected with the American Creosote Works. At the time of his death he was the oldest man on the job and also the oldest in age at that industry. He was a member of the Baptist Church. Surviving besides his widow are two sons, E. H. "Kidd" Farr of Winnfield and Orean Farr of Chico, Calif.; one daughter, Mrs. Willie Mae Goodman of Tullos, La; and eight grandchildren. He is also survived by one half brother, Herbert Starks of Grandon, Mo.; and one half sister, Mrs. Eugia Ashworth of Prescott, Ark. Active pallbearers were W. L. Kirkpatrick, L. J. Thomas, A. J. Richardson, L. A. Brister, J. F. Lovell, and Harper Terrill.
