H. Ferguson To Be Held Friday Funeral services for Mrs. C. H. Ferguson, 87, of Atlanta, who died in a Winnfield hospital Wednesday night, will be held at the Atlanta Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Friday, October 30. Burial will follow in the Atlanta Cemetery. Mrs. Ferguson was the former Sallie Volentine of Athens, La., but spent most of her life in Atlanta. She and Mr. Ferguson were married in Atlanta on November 6, 1905. When she first came to the community she taught music and later served as clerk in the post office and boarded the school teachers in that area in the early days. She was a devout member of the Atlanta Methodist Church. Surviving are her husband, C. H. Ferguson, retired Post Master of Atlanta and retired Winn Parish Registrar of Voters; one daughter, Mabel of Atlanta; one son, B. D. Ferguson of Houston, Texas; three grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren; five brothers, Dave, Dan, and Jerry Volentine all of Athens, La.; Grover Volentine of Homer and Courtney Volentine of Minden.
