Ferrell, Sr. Funeral Services Held Here Monday Thomas A. Ferrell, Sr., 67, passed away at his home in Winnfield Sunday, February 17, 1946. He was born in Amite County, Miss., Sept. 12, 1878, and was married in 1898 to Susie C. Bales of Amite County. Mr. Ferrell came to Winnfield from Stamps, Ark., in 1920 as an employee of the L. & A. Railroad. He later became connected with the T. & G. Railroad shops and worked there until his retirement in November, 1941. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Winnfield. Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church with Rev. H. H. McBride officiating. Burial was in Winnfield Cemetery under direction of Edmonds Funeral Home of Jonesboro. Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, T. A. Ferrell, Jr., and L. M. Ferrell, both in the Army Air Corps; three daughters, Mrs. Harold Thornton, Little Rock, Ark., Mrs. M. E. Mercer, Jr., Saline, La., Mrs. Eli Harrell, Winnfield; two brothers, Enoch Ferrell, Jackson, Tenn., Frank Ferrell, McComb, Miss.; two sisters, Mrs. J. C. Hayes, Osyka, Miss., Mrs. Alice White, Merced, Calif.; and seven grandchilden. Active pallbearers were John Steen, Charles Bright, D. L. Durrett, E. L. McGuffee, Joe Mitchell, and Dan Page. Honorary pallbearers were Jim Crippen, Bob Mills, M. M. Farr, Virgil Crippen, Judge Cas Moss, A. L. Smith, Houston Smith, Burton Williams, John T. DeLoach, Clyde DeLoach, Ovey Trahan, and Leo Sowers.
