He was a retired railroad engineer. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Temple Baptist Church of Jena with the Revs. K. G. Brooks and Mickey Bounds officiating. Burial was in Woodland Cemetery. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Fannie Prichard Finley of Jena; two sons, Steve Finley, Jr., of Shreveport and Charles Finley of Jena; six daughters, Mrs. C. A. Crooks, Mrs. Joe Frances, both of Jena, Mrs. Louis Milliner of Pineville, Mrs. Julian Lawrence of Shreveport, Mrs. Glenn Gorham of Winnfield, Mrs. B. E. Evans of Midwest, Okla.; three sisters, Mrs. J. D. Key, Mrs. Francis McHenry, both of Columbia, Mrs. Edna Thomas of Pineville; 40 grandchildren, and 28 great grandchildren.
