Fisher Dies At Her Home Here Tuesday A. M. Mrs. Mary Lavonia Fisher, widow of the late M. M. Fisher, died at her home Tuesday morning at 9:15 o'clock, following a long illness. Mrs. Fisher with her children and friends, observed her eighty-first birthday on July 4. Funeral services were held on Wednesday morning at ten o'clock at the First Methodist Church with the Rev. Alwin Stokes, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church in charge, assisted by Rev. A. W. Townsend, Jr., pastor of the Hodge Methodist Church. Interment was made in Winnfield. The deceased was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church. Mrs. Fisher was born at Montgomery, July 4, 1850. Her parents were Mr. and Mrs. Hartwell Hyde. She was married January 4, 1883, to M. M. Fisher, also of Montgomery, who died March 7, 1918. Mrs. Fisher, her husband and their family came to Winnfield in 1906, and Mr. Fisher became engaged in the mercantile business. Later he assisted in the organization of the First National Bank of Winnfield and served as president for a number of years. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. C. W. Stienkamp of Memphis, Tenn., Mrs. G. B. Davis of Clarence, Mrs. R. F. Stovall of Dodson; one son, C. M. Fisher of Winnfield; two brothers, Albert Hyde of Zwolle and Frank Hyde of Montgomery; two nieces of Winnfield, Mrs. A. L. McDonald and Mrs. W. C. Colvin. Also, two nephews of Winnfield, J. M. Hyde and Rob Hyde; 14 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
