Fletcher, 74, of Colfax, father of Mrs. Lucille F. Dyess of Winnfield, died last Friday in an Alexandria hospital. He had lived in the home of his daughter here several years. Mr. Fletcher was born and reared in Grant Parish and was one of the most prominent farmers of that section. Funeral services were held Saturday at 3 p.m. at the Iatt Baptist Church of which the deceased was a member, with Rev. C. C. Milstead, assisted by Rev. Garland Dean, officiating. Burial was in Iatt Cemetery under direction of Hixson Brothers. Surviving besides Mrs. Dyess are three sons, Matthew Fletcher, New Verda; Warren and Gary Fletcher, Montgomery; three daughters, Mrs. L. M. Wyatt, St. Maurice; Mrs. Gus Hodnet, Colfax; Mrs. J. N. Pollard, Dry Prong; one sister, Mrs. J. H. Canterbury, Alexandria. He was the grandfather of Mrs. Jack Jones, Winnfield. Pallbearers were Francis N. Ates, David L. Ates, Nelson Pollard, Richard Barnett, Hugh Hamferlin, and Henry Weaver.
