H. Fletcher Succumbs to Long Illness Thursday One of Most Influential Women of Town and Section. Funeral Friday. Mrs. R. H. Fletcher died at her home here Friday morning and funeral services were held from the First Baptist Church Saturday morning at 10 o'clock with the Rev. A. H. Cullen in charge, assisted by Rev. Alwin Stokes of the Presbyterian Church and Rev. Ellis Smith of the First Methodist Church. Interment was made in the Winnfield Cemetery. Mrs. Fletcher was before her marriage Miss May Corbett and at the time a member of the local school faculty. Her work in the public school endeared her to the children of the section and the scope of her influence the people and community she served. Influential in the community in all moral and civic affairs, Mrs. Fletcher's work in the church was outstanding. For many years a leader in the Women's Missionary Union, Mrs. Fletcher was a teacher of the Women's Bible Class in the Sunday School. Her zeal and consecration was an inspiration to those with whom she labored and greatly furthered the cause of the church. Modest, unassuming, her civic and church activities were marked by a reticence worthy of admiration and emulation. Surviving are her husband, R. H. Fletcher, one daughter, Miss Elizabeth Fletcher, two sons, Evan and Elmon, all of Winnfield, and another son, the oldest of the family, Robert Morris Fletcher, of Dallas, Texas, her mother, Mrs. M. E. Cooper, two sisters, Miss Georgia Prothro of Winnfield and Mrs. Charles A. Leonard, a missionary in China, one brother, Percy Corbett of Shreveport. Pallbearers were A. Leonard Allen, Eugene Beck, J. M. Hyde, Cas Moss, W. T. Norman, and W. U. Drewett.
