H. Fletcher Active Worker in Baptist Church Dies After Long Illness Mrs. R. H. Fletcher died at her home here Friday morning after a long illness. Funeral services were conducted at the First Baptist Church Saturday morning. The Rev. A. H. Cullen, pastor, had charge and was assisted by the Rev. Alwin Stokes and the Rev. Ellis Smith. Interment was in the Winnfield Cemetery. Mrs. Fletcher was born in Natchitoches Parish. She was Miss Lola May Corbitt before her marriage and was a former school teacher in the Winnfield school. She was married to R. H. Fletcher of Winnfield in 1906. Surviving Mrs. Fletcher are her husband, R. H. Fletcher; four children, Robert Maurice Fletcher of Tulsa, Okla.; Evan C., Elmon Dodd, and Martha Elizabeth; mother, Mrs. M. E. Cooper; sister, Miss Georgia Prothro, all of Winnfield; a sister, Mrs. C. A. Leonard, of Harbin, Manchuria, China; and one brother, P. C. Corbitt of Shreveport. Mrs. Fletcher was one of the most active workers not only in the Baptist Church here but for many years was one of the state leaders in women's activities of the denomination. She was one of the leaders here in the Baptist congregation that after years of sacrifice and personal denial, succeeded in building one of the finest church buildings here to be found in any town of this size in the state.
