All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: April 14, 1949 Winn Parish Enterprise Rites For Manuel Fletcher Held At Mars Hill April 12 Funeral services for Manuel Fletcher of New Verda were conducted at the Mars Hill Baptist Church at 3:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, April 12. Burial was in the Mars Hill Cemetery. Mr. Fletcher, lifelong resident of the New Verda community, died in the home of his son, Loyd Fletcher, in Pollock, Monday morning, April 11, after an illness of several weeks. He was a farmer by profession and a member of the Baptist Church. Eighteen years ago, he lost his voice, but regained it 16 years later. For the past two years he has been able to talk in a normal manner. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Roy Brady of New Verda, Mrs. Grace Watson of Colfax, and Mrs. Loyd McManus; four sons, Loyd of Pollock, S. Q. Fletcher of Winnfield, and Travis and Lester Fletcher of New Verda; and a host of grandchildren.
