L. Fluitt, fell on a heating stove Tuesday morning about ten thirty while playing and was fatally burned. Mrs. Fluitt left the children for a few minutes to go to the kitchen and it is said that she heard one of them scream and thinking that they were only playing she finished what she was doing before returning to the room where she found Marcie with almost all her clothes burned off and body seared. Still conscious, she was attended by a physician who removed her to the local clinic where she died at two thirty o'clock the same afternoon. Funeral services conducted by the Rev. A. H. Cullen were held Wednesday at three o'clock with interment in the Winnfield Cemetery.
