Cliff Fomby, husband of her niece, Mrs. Marjorie Waller Fomby, of Los Angeles, Calif., was killed in action in the invasion of Tarawa. A native of Bernice, La., Cpl. Fomby was with the U. S. Marines when they invaded the tiny island in the Pacific. Mrs. Fomby is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Waller of Dodson and of Mrs. M. A. Barrett of Winnfield. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. D. Waller of Dodson and Lake Charles.
