A. (Laura M.) Forrest, 79, of Winnfield died Thursday, December 2, 1976, in a Shreveport hospital. She was a former resident of Alexandria and had lived here since 1934. Mrs. Forrest was a member of the First United Methodist Church and was co- owner of H and F Shoppe for many years. She was a charter member of the Orphanage Circle and of the Women's Christian Society and was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Palestine Chapter No. 55. Survivors include one son, Newton Forrest of Winnfield; one daughter, Mrs. Pauline "Polly" Harris of Winnfield; three sisters, Mrs. Crawford Johnson of Hineston, Mrs. Clarence Johnson of Grant, and Mrs. Allie Roberts of Derby, Kansas. Services were held at 3 p.m. Saturday in the First United Methodist Church with Revs. Eskel Tatum and Robert Gage officiating. Burial was in the Winnfield Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Roland Rogers, G. E. Brewton, Denton Shell, Jack Gaar, J. W. Wroten, and Jim Russell, Jr.
