Miss Fortner was a member of the Methodist Church at Mt. Zion and was loved by a host of friends who marveled at her cheerfulness during her long illness. Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Jones and Mrs. Lula Wardlow. Acting as pallbearers were Joe Smith, Daniel Martin, L. Smith, and Mrs. Edmonds. Burial was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home. Surviving the deceased are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fortner; three sisters, Mrs. W. E. Rikard, Atlanta; Mrs. W. W. Flatt, Austin, Texas; Mrs. W. E. McCollum, Deweyville, Texas; and three brothers, T. F. Fortner, Atlanta; E. P. Fortner, Montgomery; and D. C. Fortner, Beaumont, Texas.
