A. Fortner Mrs. T. A. Fortner, age 58 years, succumbed at a Winnfield clinic August 17, 1941, following a stroke she suffered in July. Mrs. Fortner was well known throughout the parish and this section. She came from Alabama to Louisiana 30 years ago and has taken a leading part in church work in her community. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Jones at Mt. Zion with burial in the Mt. Zion Cemetery under the direction of Edmonds. Surviving are her husband, three daughters, Mrs. W. W. Flatt, Austin, Texas; Mrs. W. E. McCollum, Deweyville, Texas; Mrs. W. E. Rikard, Atlanta; and three sons, T. F. Fortner, Atlanta; C. P. Fortner, Montgomery; and D. C. Fortner, Beaumont, Texas; four sisters, Mrs. J. L. Johnson, Crossett, Ark.; Mrs. B. Lackley, Crossett, Ark.; Mrs. Mollie Atkins, Columbia, Miss.; and Mrs. Etta Fortner, Birmingham, Ala.; five brothers, John Rickman, Columbia, Miss.; Jessie Rickman, Birmingham, Ala.; Robert Rickman, Crossett, Ark.; Pete Rickman, Crossett, Ark., and James Rickman, Little Rock, Ark.; and a host of nieces and nephews.
