Death Claims Rev. G. B. Foster At Son's Home

Last Rites Are Held at Sardis Church Thursday Afternoon

Rev. G. B. Foster, 68 years of age, died at the home of his son, J. R. Foster,
in Winnfield, Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.  Rev. Foster, whose home is in Verda
had been brought here two weeks ago on account of his ill health.

Funeral services were held at the Sardis Baptist Church at 3 o'clock Thursday
afternoon with Rev. B. C. Land, Rev. Alwin Stokes, and Rev. O. L. Hughes
officiating.

Rev. Foster spent the greater part of his life in Winn Parish.  He served as a
Baptist minister for 25 years.  Two of his recent pastorates were the Mars
Hill and the Iatt Churches.

Surviving are his widow, four daughters and four sons, Mrs. R. L. Barton,
Mangham; Mrs. Aubry Leary, Rayville; Mrs. Ernest Lasyone and Mrs. Jim Lasyone,
Verda; Tom Foster, Colfax; Robert, Harry, and Murphy J. Foster, Winnfield.
