W. Fowler Dies Tobe W. Fowler, 86, who spent all of his lifetime in Ward Five, Winn Parish, with the exception of a few months before his death, when he resided at 604 South Street, died at 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 27, 1971. Mr. Fowler and his wife celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary at their home last December 24. Mr. Fowler, a retired farmer of the Wheeling community, served Ward Five for many years as its representative on the Winn Parish Police Jury. He was a member and served as secretary of the Montgomery Masonic Lodge. Final rites were conducted at 2 p.m. January 28 at Mt. Zion Methodist Church with Rev. G. A. McVay and Rev. Roy Moore officiating. Masonic graveside services were conducted by Eugene Love, with funeral arrangements under the direction of Hixson Brothers Home of Winnfield. Serving as pallbearers were Perry Joe Smith, Carols Luther, E. M. McGinty, S. M. Fowler, Buford Fowler, and John W. Teddlie. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Gertrude (McLamore) Fowler of Winnfield; three daughters, Mrs. Claude McCain of Natchitoches, Mrs. Polly Beckley and Mrs. Maudie F. Long, both of Winnfield; a brother, Sam Fowler of Montgomery, and a sister, Mrs. H. C. Johnson, also of Montgomery. Obituaries: Buford Fowler, 1977, Winn Parish, LA From: April 6, 1977 Winn Parish Enterprise News-American Funeral services for Buford Fowler, 50, of Montgomery, were held at 3 p.m. Monday at Mt. Zion Methodist Church with the Revs. G. A. McVay, George Horn, and Dorothy McGowen officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield. Mr. Fowler died Sunday, April 3, 1977 at St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria after a lengthy illness. He was a member of the Mt. Zion Methodist Church. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Nell Fowler of Montgomery; two sons, Frank Fowler of Winnfield and Tony Fowler of Montgomery; two daughters, Sherry Duffy and Miss Lee Fowler, both of Montgomery; his mother, Mrs. Frank Fowler of Montgomery; two brothers, Bert Fowler of Montgomery and Arvil Fowler of West Monroe and two grandchildren. Obituaries: Taylor L. Bozeman, 1940, Winn Parish, LA From: October 4, 1940 Winnfield News-American Taylor L. Bozeman, Former Resident, Dies at Koran, LA Taylor L. Bozeman, age 70, a former resident of Winnfield, died at his home at Koran, Louisiana on Thursday of last week. Mr. Bozeman made his home here for a number of years with his late brother, M. W. Bozeman, moving from here about 28 years ago. Funeral services were held at Providence Baptist Church near Bienville the following day. He is survived by his wife, the former Miss Bessie Webb, two sisters, Mrs. Emma O'Neal of El Paso, Texas, and Mrs. Eula King, Los Angeles, Calif. H. B. Bozeman, nephew of the deceased, attended the funeral on last Friday. Obituaries: Henry Fowler, 1940, Winn Parish, LA From: December 27, 1940 Winnfield News-American Funeral Rites For Montgomery Man Are Held Monday Funeral services for Henry Fowler of Montgomery, who died at the Huey P. Long hospital at Pineville on December 15, were held the following day with interment in the Mt. Zion Cemetery. Mr. Fowler, who was 51 years of age on November 24, is survived by his wife and five children, J. H., Jr., Mary, Wayne, Joe Floyd, and Nelda Juanita, all of Montgomery. Obituaries: A. J. Last rites were conducted Sunday in the Union Hill Baptist Church at 3:00 p.m. Rev. J. A. Allen, pastor, officiated. Burial was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery. Mr. Fowler is survived by three nieces, one nephew, a host of first cousins, and friends. His body lay in state in the home of Mr. and Mrs. T. W. Fowler until time for burial. Dunn, 1963, Winn Parish, LA From: June 13, 1963 Winn Parish Enterprise Last Rites For Charlie A. Dunn Near Pollock Charlie A. Dunn, 70, of Tullos, died Wednesday in an Alexandria hospital after a lengthy illness. He was a native of LaSalle Parish. Last rites were conducted at 2:30 p.m. Thursday with graveside services at Friendship near Pollock under direction of Southern Funeral Home. Surviving are two brothers, W. C. Dunn of Georgetown and J. N. Dunn of Pollock. Obituaries: Noah Brewton, 1963, Winn Parish, LA Noah Brewton, 79, Dies Sept. 12, Burial in Goldonna Noah Brewton, 79, of Goldonna, died at 9:30 p.m. Thursday in a Natchitoches nursing home. He was a retired employee of the National Biscuit Co. Funeral services were held at the Goldonna Baptist Church at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, with Rev. Roy Flurry and Rev. J. R. Hearon officiating. Burial was in the Goldonna Cemetery. Survivors include one son, Percy of Sacramento, Calif., one sister, Mrs. Alta Anderson of Goldonna, and a number of nieces and nephews.
