B. Barton and Grafton Shaw officiating. Mr. Franks was in road construction and a member of Sanders Chapel Methodist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield. Mr. Franks died Monday July 15, 1974 in a local hospital here after a short illness. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Lottie B. Franks of Winnfield; four sons, L.C. Franks, Edward Franks, Steve Franks, all of Winnfield, and Kenneth Dale Franks of Shreveport; two daughters, Mrs. Shara Attilene Gsthol of Dallas, Tex., and Mrs. Beatrice Day Henderson of Manilla, Phillippines; one brother, Parker Franks of Gibsland; three sisters, Mrs. Gladys Leeper, Mrs. Joy Ates and Mrs. Adelle Carson, all of Winnfield; one half-sister, Mrs. Annie Atkins of Goldonna; and 11 grandchildren.
