Mother of Local Resident Dies In Jonesboro

Mrs. Lula D. Franklin, 87, Jonesboro, died Sunday, March 24, 1968 at Jackson
Parish Hospital after a brief illness.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Monday at Edmonds Funeral Home Chapel
with Rev. Edward Yates officiating.

Burial was in Traina Memorial Cemetery in Jonesboro.

Survivors are three sons, W. P. Franklin of Alexandria, J. J. Franklin of
Monroe, and Selmon Franklin of Chatanooga, Tenn.; three daughters, Mrs.
Florence Frey of Jonesboro; Mrs. Lula Callaway of Port Orchard, Wash.; and
Mrs. Ione Mosley of Winnfield; a brother, Gilmer Dowies of Homer; six
grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
