Mr. Edward Olan Franks, age 59, of Winnfield, La., passed away Thursday, 

January 20, 2005, at the Winn Parish Medical Center in Winnfield, La.  He  was 

a member of Calvin Baptist Church.  Mr. Franks was the Assistant Fire Chief of 

the Saline Volunteer Fire Department and also a member of "HIS" Gospel 

Group..  .



He was the son of the late Chester "Happy" Franks and the late Lottie (Barnes) 

Franks.



He is survived by his wife Carolyn Sue (Bonnette) Franks of Winnfield; 



Two Daughters,

Donna Cheek and her husband Phillip of Saline Lake, 

La.                                     

Tanya Franks of Saline Lake, La.



One Son,

Reggie Franks and his wife Cathy of Joyce, La.



Two Sisters,

Sandy Gstohl of Calvin, La.                                     

Faye Blaine of Calvin, La.



Two Brothers,

Steve Franks of Calvin, La.                                     

Kenneth Dale Franks of Shreveport, La.



Six grandchildren

Brittany, Miranda, Magan, Christopher "Bo-Bo", Lexus, and Rachel.

Four great-grandchildren  

Breela, Kreston, Chandlin, and Chanstin.

     

Mr. Franks was preceded in death by his brother, L.C. Franks, and his 

Grandson, Roger D. Lowery.



Services are under the direction of Southern Funeral Homes, Inc., 202 E. 

Lafayette St., Winnfield, La., where the family will receive friends from 4:00 

PM to 9:00 PM Saturday, January 22, 2005 and from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM Sunday, 

January 23, 2005.  Funeral services will be at Southern Funeral Home at 2:00 

PM Sunday, January 23, 2005 , with Rev. James McNaughton and Rev. 

Carroll "Booty" Garlington officiating.  Interment will be at Sanders Chapel 

Cemetery in Calvin, La.
