Franklin, of Alexandria, mother of Mrs. W. H. Jordan of this city, was received with regret here by the friends of the family. The following account of Mrs. Franklin's death and burial was taken from the Monday's issue of the Alexandria Town Talk: Mrs. Mary A. Franklin, aged 76 years, 7 months, and 15 days, died at the home of her son, D. C. Franklin of 2337 Hill Street at 12:25 a.m. Sunday, April 8, 1928. The funeral service was held at the residence at 3:30 p.m. Monday with services conducted by Dr. Carl A. DeVane, pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church. Interment was made in Greenwood Memorial Park under the direction of Hixson Brothers undertakers. The pallbearers were T. B. Gamble, J. D. Boyett, W. N. Smith, J. B. Nachman, W. D. Rush, and Roscoe Bolton. The deceased is survived by the following children, Mrs. G. A. Looper and Mrs. T. O. Hart of Bentley; Mrs. W. H. Jordan, Winnfield; B. O. Franklin, Bokchit, Okla., J. A. and D. C. Franklin of Alexandria, and J. R. Franklin of Arkadelphia, Ark. She also leaves twenty-two grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren.
