All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: October 12, 1967 Winn Parish Enterprise News-American Wreck Fatal To Winnfield Youth Sunday Michael Cloie Frazier, 18 year old Northwestern State College student from Winnfield, was killed instantly and a Texas truck driver was hurt in a head-on collision early Sunday, October 8, near the Armistead community on La. Hwy. 1. State police said Frazier apparently went to sleep at the wheel as his car moved into the line of the oncoming truck. Deputy Sheriff C. H. Horton of Red River Parish, said the car was crumpled in the front of the truck so that none of the four wheels were touching the pavement. Funeral services for Frazier were held at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Laurel Heights Baptist Church with Rev. C. C. Martin officiating. Burial was in the Garden of Memories Cemetery near Winnfield under the direction of Hixson Brothers of Winnfield. He was a member of the Laurel Heights Baptist Church, a 1966 graduate of Winnfield High School, and a native of Winn Parish. Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Frazier, two sisters, Mrs. Jimmie Lovell and Miss Jan Frazier, both of Winnfield, and a maternal grandfather, J. H. Steen of Kelly. Pallbearers were Artis Ray Sikes, Perry Jeter, Mike Dearmon, Rock Attuso, Adrian Clinton, Leslie Davies, Keith Cox, and Mickey Morris.
