Last Rites Held For Rev. Jerry Fordham in Monroe

The funeral of Rev. Jerry Fordham, 79, who died in his home in West Monroe
Wednesday, was held in Claiborne Methodist Church, West Monroe, Friday at 11
a.m. with the pastor, Rev. F. L. Hearne officiating, assisted by other
ministers.  Interment was in Zoar Cemetery near Chatham and there was a
Masonic service at the grave.

Reverend Fordham is survived by his wife; three daughters, Mrs. M. C. White,
West Monroe; Mrs. Fred Lawrence, Alexandria; and Mrs. J. E. Hearn, Ruston;
four sons, Marshall, Ether, Ephraim, and Dayton Fordham, all of West
Monroe; two brothers, Rev. Dennis Fordham, Chatham and Rev. W. F. Fordham,
Grass Valley, Calif.; 23 grandchildren and 24 treat grandchildren.

He was one of the most beloved ministers and had served in the pulpit ever
since he was 20 years of age.  All told he served Methodist churches for 60
years and the last charge for 20 years.
