E. Shows of Atlanta, was instantly killed in an auto accident Sunday between DeQuincy and Lake Charles. The accident occurred when Franklin and two other men were travelling to work. Their car was in collision with another, and Franklin's neck was broken, killing him instantly. The other two men were injured but it was not known how badly. Franklin was the son of the late R. J. Franklin. Survivors are his wife, three sons and one daughter, two sisters, Mrs. A. E. Shows of Atlanta and Mrs. Willie Cryer of DeRidder; three brothers, Tom Franklin of Newton, Texas, Perry Franklin of Brunie, Texas, and Albert Franklin of Houston, Texas. He was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church at Macedonia in Winn Parish. Funeral services were held at the Macedonia Church Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. with burial in Macedonia Cemetery, Southern Funeral Home in charge.
