A. J. Franks, Of Near Calvin, Is Buried Saturday

Funeral services for A. J. Franks, 76, who died at his home near Calvin, June
16, 1943, were held last Saturday at the Sanders Church at 10:00 a.m.  The
deceased, a retired farmer, was a member of the Calvin Baptist Church and a
lifelong resident of Winn Parish.  He was the son of the late A. J. Franks,
Sr., who served as police juror of Winn Parish for 30 years.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Bertha Carpenter, Mrs. Belle Beal, and
Mrs. Effie Dean, and a grandson in the Army.
