W. T. Foster, 84 Succumbs;
Rites Held At Sardis

William Tom Foster, 84 of Colfax, died Thursday morning June 8, 1972 at a
Winnfield nursing home after a brief illness. Funeral services were held at
10:30 a.m. in the Sardis Baptist Church.  Burial was in the church cemetery
under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.  

Mr. Foster was a native of Winn Parish and a retired farmer and forester.  He
held membership in the Bethel Baptist Church near Bentley.  

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Ella Foster of Colfax; two sons, Arthur Lee
Foster of McFarland, California and Thomas J. Foster of Winnfield; five
daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Holland of Winnfield, Mrs. T. O. Futrell and Mrs.
Herschel Chellett both of Colfax; Mrs. Eloise Murphy of Shreveport and Mrs.
Merlyn Merritt of Alexandria; one brother Murphy J. Foster of Winnfield; one
sister, Mrs. O.B. Leary of Start; 13 grandchildren and six great
grandchildren.
