All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: September 15, 1966 Winn Parish Enterprise News-American Jack Fobbs, 99, Succumbs Aug. 28 Jack Fobbs, senior citizen of the Bethlehem Community, Atlanta, La., passed away Sunday morning, August 28, 1966, at a local hospital after a brief illness at the age of 99 years, 6 months, 11 days. He was born February 17, 1867 in Natchitoches Parish. He joined the Bethlehem Baptist Church and was baptized by the late Rev. Essex Griffin. He later became an ordained deacon and served faithfully until death. Funeral services were held Sunday, September 4, 1966 at the Bethlehem Baptist Church, Rev. Albert Patterson, pastor, at 12 noon, under the direction of Johnson's Funeral Home with interment in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Pauline V. Fobbs, eight children, four daughters, Mrs. larcenia F. Phillips, Atlanta, Mrs. Mary F. Phillips, Winnfield, Mrs. Betsey F. Mosley, Winnfield, Mrs. Cleo F. Merchant, Winnfield; four sons, Emanuel Fobbs, Henry Fobbs, and Morell Fobbs, all of Winnfield, and Alfred Fobbs, Atlanta; 22 grandchildren, 97 great grandchildren, and 7 great- great grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.
