Oscar James Franks, 81, Buried Aug. 24 At Sanders Chapel

Funeral services for Oscar James Franks, 81, Route Three, Winnfield, were
held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Aug.24, at Sanders Church, near Calvin, with the
Rev. J. D. Thompson and the Rev. E. P. Bringol officiating.

Franks, a retired farmer, died Wednesday in a Winnfield hospital after
an illness of several months.

Interment was in Sanders Chapel Cemetery.

Survivors include seven sons, Lee Franks, Crowville; Willie Franks, Winnfield;
J. A. Franks, Enterprise; D. R. Franks, Natchez, Miss.; Joseph, Andrew and Don
Franks, all of Calvin; six daughters, Mrs. Mack Varnell, Sr., Mrs. Kelcy
Roberts, and Mrs. Jack Sanders, all of Winnfield; Mrs. Reuben Bonnett, and
Mrs. Fred Rankin, both of Columbia and Mrs. Nolan Crum of Fort Necessity, 24
grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
