Mrs. D. Gongre Succumbs After Lengthy Illness

Mrs. Daisy Gongre, 58, of St. Maurice, died Saturday, October 1, 1966 at her
residence after a lengthy illness.  She was a native of Winn Parish.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday in the St. Maurice Catholic
Church with Father Goins officiating.  Burial was in St. Maurice Cemetery
under direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.

Survivors include her husband, Edward Gongre of St. Maurice; two sons, Edgar
and Earl Gongre, both of St. Maurice; two daughters, Lucille Pender and
Louiise Pender, both of Montgomery; six sisters, Mrs. Ralph Mayfield, San
Angelo, Tex., Mrs. Bertie Brewer, Morgan city, Mrs. Elizabeth Hendrick of
South Carolina, Mrs. Evie Miles of Alexandria, Mrs. Sadie Belgard of
Wardville, Mrs. Eva Bryant, Houston, Tex., Mrs. Fannie Moreau and Mrs. Annie
Burkes, both of St. Maurice; two brothers, Ozro Garner of Morgan City, and
Lloyd Garner of Alexandria, and 12 grandchildren.
