Eugene Garner Funeral At Mt. Zion June 7

Eugene Garner of Montgomery, 60, died at 10 a.m. Friday, June 6 in Baptist
Hospital in Alexandria after a lengthy illness.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 7, in the Mt. Zion United
Methodist Church with Revs. Jimmie Jones, Dell Durand, and Fred Campbell
officiating.  Masonic rites and burial were at the Mt. Zion Cemetery under
direction of Southern Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Eva Dell Garner, Montgomery; one son, John
E. Garner, Lake Charles; two daughters, Mrs. Melba Bandy, West Monroe, and
Mrs. Betty Collier, Winnfield; two brothers, Arnold Garner and J. E. Garner,
Montgomery; three sisters, Miss Mae Garner, Mrs. Pearl Jennings, and Mrs. Lula
Horn, all of Montgomery, and eight grandchildren.
