Last Rites For Luther M. Gaar Held At Minden

Friday, April 19, at 10 a.m. funeral services were held for L. M. Gaar, 70,
who passed away in that city, Thursday.

A former resident of Dodson, Mr. Gaar was born at Gaars Mill and moved with
his parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. D. F. Gaar, to Dodson in 1902.  In 1909 he
accepted a position with the Standard Oil Company and moved to Ruston,
remaining with them until his retirement a few years ago.  He met and married
Miss Maude Archibald of that city.  Later they moved to Minden.

The Rev. E. H. Phillips of the Minden Presbyterian Church, of which he was a
member, officiated at the services which were held in that city with burial in
a Ruston cemetery.

Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Maude Gaar, of Minden; four sisters, Mrs.
Louella Stovall, Shreveport; Mrs. Maggie Sanders, Ruston; Miss Zella Gaar,
Dodson; and Mrs. Della Payne of Dodson and Ruston.
