Gaar, Sr., Winn Native, 63, Dies In Thibodaux Gordon Crosby Gaar, Sr., 63, of Thibodaux, a Winn Parish native, died suddenly at his home last Sunday, November 9, 1952. A cerebral hemorrhage was the cause of death. Funeral services were conducted at the Methodist Church in Thibodaux, with a Masonic burial in the Natchitoches cemetery. Mr. Gaar was a native of Winn Parish, and was at the time of his death engaged in a private abstract business for several oil companies. He was first married to the former Virginia Freeman, now deceased, and they had three children, now surviving, Mrs. Harley Womack, of Dodson; William James Gaar, Williamsburg, Va., with the U. S. Navy; and Gordon C. Gaar, Jr., of Pride, La. Other survivors include his present wife, Mrs. Frances Ford Gaar of Thibodaux, and a daughter, Mrs. Evelyn Richardson, of Thibodaux, one brothers, Homer Gaar of West Monroe, a sister, Mrs. Rose Goolsby of the Hudson Community. Pallbearers were business friends from Thibodaux, where he had lived for the past seven years.
