D. E. Gaar Dies In Monroe Today

D. E. Gaar, about 54, of Monroe, died in that city today (Thursday) after a
long illness.  He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Barton E. Gaar of the
Gaars Mill community.

Mr. Gaar had been employed in the circulation department of the Monroe News-
Star for more than 20 years.  He was married to the former Miss Lois
Pennington of Dodson, who survives him.

He also leaves one daughter, Mrs. Bob Burns, of Natchez, Miss.; two
grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Roy (Olga) Dahl of Monroe; five brothers, Guy
Gaar of Gaars Mill, Dr. Malcolm Gaar of Arlington, Va., A. E. Gaar, Clinton,
La., Gordon B. Gaar, Monroe, Wayland E. Gaar, Lake Charles.

Funeral arrangements had not been made when this newspaper went to press.
