Guy C. Gaar, 71, Succumbs; Rites At New Hope

Funeral services for Guy Chelcy Gaar, 71, of Dodson, were held Wednesday at
the New Hope Methodist Church near Dodson with the Rev. Charles P. Strong
officiating.  Burial was in the New Hope Cemetery.

Mr. Gaar died Monday, November 30, 1970 at his residence following a long
illness.  He was a retired salesman.

A native of the Gaars Mill Community, Mr. Gaar was a member of the New Hope
Methodist Church.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Clara Gaar; one son, Guy C. Gaar, Jr.; and
one daughter, Mrs. Robert L. Gunter, all of Dodson; one sister, Mrs. Roy Dahl
of Monroe; four brothers, Malcolm Gaar of Atlanta, Ga., A. B. Gaar of Monroe,
Aswell Gaar of Clinton, and Wayland Gaar of Lake Charles; and three
grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Thad Tucker, Phillip Dahl, Lee Gaar, Douglas Gaar, Jack Gaar,
Lemoyne Bonner, Brider L. Ferguson, and Edward C. Tuggle.
