All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: October 29, 1986 Winn Parish Enterprise News-American Kermit Gaar Services for Mr. Kermit Albert Gaar, Sr., 76, of Shreveport, were held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 22, at the Osborn Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Marie Williams of the Cedar Grove Methodist Church officiated. Burial was in Forest Park Cemetery. Mr. Gaar died Tuesday, October 21, 1986 at Schumpert Medical Center after a brief illness. He was born March 10, 1910 in Dodson, La., and was a graduate of Dodson High School. Mr. Gaar, a pharmacist, attended Tulane University and Duncan School of Pharmacy in Fort Worth, Texas. He was retired as an inspector for the Louisiana State Board of Pharmacy and was the former owner of several local pharmacies. Mr. Gaar was also a licensed master electrician. He was a member of the Cedar Grove United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Francell Frazer Gaar of Shreveport; two sons, Dr. Kermit A. Gaar, Jr. of Shreveport and Dr. J. Frazer Gaar of Opelousas, La.; one brother, Harold Gaar of Dallas, Texas; one sister, Marjorie Lowery of Midland, Tex.; and eight grandchildren. Pallbearers were Luther Cox, D. J. Richard, Victor Meadow, Earl Stanage, H. M. Owens, Johnny R. McGraw, Fred Anderson, and Will Ed Sanders. Honorary pallbearers were M. C. "Doc" Burnham and E. W. Moffett. Family requests that any memorials be made to the Cedar Grove Methodist Church.
