H. Gaar Of Dodson Succumbs Wed., March 18 Mrs. Sylvester H. Gaar, the former Ola Crain, 65, died at her home in Dodson Wednesday following a short illness. She was a native of Jackson Parish and a member of the Dodson Methodist church. Mrs. Gaar was the widow of the late Sylvester H. Gaar, long time merchant of Dodson. She spent most of her lifetime in Winn Parish. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in the New Hope Methodist Church with the Rev. J. C. Rousseaux officiating. He was assisted by the Rev. Grafton Shaw. burial was in the church cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield. Survivors include one son, Paul Vayne Gaar of Dodson; one daughter, Mrs. Evora Ferguson of Shreveport; two granddaughters, three grandsons; four brothers, John M. Crain and Lamar Crain, both of Shreveport; B. M. Crain of Atlanta, Fa., and Charlie Crain, Registrar of Voters of Winn Parish; three sisters, Mrs. P. T. Dark, Mrs. A. M. Tyler, and Mrs. J. D. Ingouf, all of Shreveport.
