Shelby Gaar

The funeral of Shelby Eugene Gaar, 70, of Dodson was held at 2 p.m. Monday at
New Hope Methodist Church near here with the Rev. Roy Grant officiating,
assisted by Rev. Grayson Watson.

Burial was in the church cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home
of Winnfield.

Mr. Gaar died Saturday, October 7, 1978 at his residence in Dodson after a
brief illness.  He was a member of New Hope Methodist Church, chairman of the
Dugdemona Soil Conservation Committee, supervisor and member of the
Cattlemen's Association.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Samples Gaar of Dodson; one son, Shelby
Gaar, Jr., of Dodson; one stepson, Ralph Jenkins of Dodson; two brothers, Roy
Gaar and Edwin Gaar, both of Dodson, and one sister, Mrs. Howard Kelley of
Winnfield.

Pallbearers were Mike Kelley, Jack Gaar, Jimmy Amberg, Douglas Gaar, Tim Gaar,
Paul Vane Gaar, Don Gaar, and Max Kelley.
