W. Gaar, State Representative from Winn Parish and the late Mrs. Gaar, Mr. Gaar was a lifelong resident of Winn Parish. He was reared in the Gaars Mill Community and was a merchant in Winnfield for over 37 years. A member of the First Methodist Church, Mr. Gaar served on the Board of Stewards for 34 years. Funeral services were conducted at the First Methodist Church at 10 a.m. Wednesday with Rev. Richard Walton officating, assisted by Rev. Robert Gage and Rev. Fred Flurry of Monroe. Interment was in the Winnfield Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Volee Watts Gaar, one son, Lt. Tim Gaar, of El Toro, California; three brothers, Roy Gaar and Edwin Gaar of Gaars Mill, Shelby Gaar of Winnfield and one sister, Mrs. Florene Kelley of Winnfield. Pallbearers were Maxwell T. Crowe, Jesse Anders, O. K. Greaves, E. H. Farr, Shirley Jackson, L. Rickerson, Don Walsh, and T. H. Harrel, Sr.
